It uses recycled plastic to make its pots, which are themselves 100% recyclable. Having said that, they will last a lifetime, being frost resistant and made with long-lasting colours and UV protection. The energy used to power the elho factory is 100% renewable, generated by the massive wind turbine in elho’s back garden. The turbine shares the garden with around two million bees!
So whether it’s for summer-flowering bulbs, a stunning rose bush or a selection of herbs, your free elho pot will be a valuable and sustainable addition to your garden or balcony.
Planting ideas:
Topiary: the epitome of sophistication is Buxus Sempervirens clipped into a perfect sphere. Your Buxus ball will look even better in your elho pot.
Rose: the ‘Special Mum’ gives a beautiful pink bloom from July to September so long as you place it in full sun.
Fruit: Coronet is the ultimate miniature apple tree, having two delicious varieties on one tree. Fruits in its first year and remains miniature.
Potatoes/tomatoes: for home-grown spuds, add 10cm of multi-purpose compost to the bottom of the pot, place 3 to 5 chitted seed potatoes on the surface, cover them with 8-10cm of compost and water well. Place the pot in a sunny, frost-free position. When the shoots have grown to 8cm, add another 10cm of compost.
