Irish
A wonderful, evergreen shrub with cup-shaped, white flowers with pale yellow centres from late spring to summer. This plant is a great addition to the garden for its shiny, silvery foliage, as well as its flowers. It is happiest in a warm, sunny spot where it contrasts well with blues and purples.

Lavandula stoechas is commonly referred to as French lavender. It’s an aromatic dwarf shrub with narrow, greyish leaves, and bears dense, oval heads of small purple flowers topped with with a tuft of purple bracts.
Characteristics:
Tullys
One of the loveliest hydrangeas, this has huge globes of tightly packed, creamy white bracts that look like giant snowballs in late summer. As autumn progresses, the blowsy flowerheads fade to pale lime and the dark green, pointed leaves turn soft yellow.
It has an upright habit and makes a breathtaking feature in a wide, partly shady border, particularly when planted in groups or with other hydrangeas. The flowerheads are a popular choice for dried flower arrangements.

Lavandula angustifolia Hidcote produces dense spikes of fragrant, deep violet summer flowers above slender, aromatic, silvery-grey leaves. It is possibly the best lavender for edging paths and borders and produces a perfumed fragrance when you brush against it.
Cut back the stalks after the flowers have faded. Carefully trim back in April, taking care not to cut into old wood.
