Going Home was inspired by a childhood memory. Rita Oates was born in America to Irish immigrant parents. When she was nine years old, the Hibernian Society chartered a direct flight to Ireland. For most of the passengers, it was their first visit home, and her father was returning after 23 years.

As the plane descended, men and women stretched to catch a glimpse of the green fields below. The moment was filled with excitement and raw emotion as the familiar landscape welcomed them home.
