Great Irish Products and the Stories Behind the Makers
With St. Patrick’s Day fast approaching, we decided to highlight some of our fantastic Irish suppliers and share their stories. We love supporting Irish-grown and Irish-made products at Arboretum. With March being our month of green, we asked our staff for some of their favourite products:
1) Mother’s Day Gift Set from Green Angel
With Mother’s Day only a few days after St. Patrick’s Day, what better time to showcase this product from Green Angel. This gift set contains the Green Angel seaweed and collagen face cream and a full-sized (30ml) jasmine hand cream from the precious oils collection. Sure to go down a treat with all Irish mams.
Green Angel was formed in 2006 by Chris and Mary Mitchell and it has already become a fantastic Irish success story. Its skincare products use essential plant oils and seaweed (sourced from the west of Ireland). The range is all natural and extremely luxurious.

2) Coppenagh Cheese and Pizza Board from Ballyshane
This stylish and functional board really earns its place in the kitchen. It’s great for chopping and slicing and we also use it to serve up everything from pizzas to party nibbles for the gang.
Ballyshane is the passion project of William McHutcheon and Cheryl Stanley. All William’s pieces are beautifully handcrafted using locally sourced and sustainably grown Irish hardwoods. Cheryl brings the entrepreneurial spirit. Taking inspiration from their home in the village of Ballyshane, William works predominantly in native hardwoods, reclaimed when possible.

3) Galway Bay climbing rose from Hughes Roses
A beautiful and fragrant climbing rose that will add to any garden, producing an abundance of rich, pink double blooms throughout the summer. Galway Bay is a result of expert breeding by Sam McGredy of Portadown.
Hughes Roses is a family-run nursery based in Dublin which has supplied Arboretum with Irish-grown roses for many years. Now run by the second generation of the Hughes family, they continue to produce the quality roses our customers love.

4) Ballerina Dreams from Paul Maloney
This beautifully subtle and simple art print is a favourite amongst many of our staff. Drawing on the nostalgia of youth and the dreams of a little girl, Paul Maloney captures the sentiment wonderfully in this piece.
Paul Maloney is a multi-talented Irish artist based in Barntown, Wexford. This award-winning painter also moulds a fantastic range of pottery. He is constantly creating exciting new work in his own style.

These stones take centre stage back in their studio in Dublin when they create jewellery around them. They use recycled silver and gold to reduce their impact on the earth as much as possible.
