Retail Senior Sales Assitant.

The position available is for a Retail Sales Assistant in the Plant area of the award winning Arboretum Carlow Garden Centre. The Sales Assistant will be part of a dynamic team that will drive sales and maintain the high standards of the store.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • To achieve and seek to exceed personal sales targets across targeted product areas.
  • To maximize the sales potential of your area.
  • Improvement & development of relevant areas.
  • Deal effectively with all customer enquiries, in an efficient and courteous manner, solving any problems as quickly as possible in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work well in a team and a pleasant and courteous demeanor
  • Ensure that workplaces health & safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
  • Inspiring your store team to drive sales and deliver the finest level of customer service.
  • Keep up to date with current product knowledge, Compliance with company policies, procedures and best practice to ensure a high level of productivity in line with company targets.

The Ideal candidate:

  • Will have previous retail experience and have a passion for working in retail.
  • Will be extremely customer focused and results driven
  • Will have strong visual merchandising skills.
  • Will have excellent communication, planning and organisation skills
  • Will be self-motivated and driven

Kitchen Porter

This position is based in our café located within the Arboretum Home & Garden Heaven in Leighlinbridge, Carlow

Working 5 over 7 days (weekend work required), the hours offered are up to 40 per week.

This role is for an immediate start. Applicants must be permitted to work up to 40 hours per week in Ireland and will be asked to provide confirmation of this at interview (GNIB stamp 4 / residency etc)

The ideal Candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a high volume café/ restaurant.
  • A calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep counter operating to standard.
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of restaurant as business demands.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator.
  • Ability to work as part of a team & build relationships.
  • Ensuring food preparation sites are clean and ready & general housekeeping duties included.
