Garden Centre of the Year..

Carlow can boast of being home to the top garden centre yet again.
The Arboretum Lifestyle and Garden Centre was crowned Garden Centre of the year at the Bord Bia Quality Awards 2009 for the seventh year running on Friday night. It also retained its five star garden-centre rating and picked up the accolade for Best Customer Service.
The unprecedented achievement goes down in history for owners Rachel and Frank Doyle who established the business in Carlow town more than 30 years ago.
?The award is for the staff and a tribute to everyone in Arboretum for their dedication and for how well they look after the customers,? said Rachel.
Once the five-star rating has been awarded it is constantly monitored. Two inspections are carried out during the year to ensure the high standards are maintained and over 50 people are now employed at the centre on a part-time and full-time basis.
?Our staff put a lot of effort in and this helps us to maintain our standards,? added Rachel.
